Overview:
In rural Madhya Pradesh, the journey to education often begins with a struggle — children walking long distances with torn shoes or carrying books in plastic bags. A proper school bag or a full stationery set was once a distant dream. To address this challenge, Abhedya launched the One Bag Initiative in July 2023, aiming to equip every child with the basic tools to attend school with confidence and dignity.
What’s in the One Bag?
Each school kit is carefully designed to support the student’s day-to-day needs and inclues:
A sturdy school bag
Notebooks and subject-wise stationery
Pens, pencils, erasers, and a scale
A water bottle and lunchbox
Impact:
The first distribution saw overwhelming joy—children proudly displayed their new school bags, filled with fresh supplies. Teachers noticed improved attendance, and parents expressed heartfelt gratitude, saying their children had never felt so ready for school.
